Fall 2017 Anna Maria Island Activities and Events

Anna Maria Island is tucked away in the Southwest corner of Florida and remains quiet enough to keep out a flood of tourists but popular enough to deliver on some fantastic attractions.

With several Anna Maria Island vacation rentals and exciting local activities and events, there are many opportunities to search for your next vacation residence or primary home.

Below are four must-see events and activities on Anna Maria Island or in nearby Bradenton coming up this fall.

Wine Down Wednesday at the Rusty Crickett (Nov 1st + Every month afterward)

This brilliant and bright turquoise building is welcoming the fall season with a full embrace. The first Wednesday of every month, until early next year, you can find local wine for sale at a discount, wine tastings, and snacks at the Rusty Crickett’s Coastal City Cottage.

The Rusty Crickett is home to wine from all over the globe. Wine Down Wednesdays are free. No registration is required so make a romantic evening out of it or stop by for a quick wine tasting and snack while visiting some of the other many attractions in the area.

The debut of the event is Nov 1st at 615 15th Street West, Bradenton, 34205 with tastings likely being between 5 pm to 7 pm.

Symphony on the Sand (November 11th)

All ages are welcomed to the Symphony on the Sand on Anna Maria Island. The 45-piece collective springs out symphony renditions of rock classics, iconic Mozart and Beethoven pieces, and other assorted performances as the sun sinks below the horizon right over the gulf. This is undoubtedly the most serene way to experience the symphony.

6th Annual Cortez Stone Crab Festival (November 11th and 12th)

What makes the 6th Annual Cortez Stone Crab festival a can’t-miss special event for Bradenton and Anna Maria Island visitors? Guests are welcomed to indulge in the taste of moderately rare (and stunningly delicious) local stone crab. The event carries on for two days, Nov 11th and Nov 12th.

The Swordfish Grill and festival is located at 4628 119th St W., Cortez, 34215. This weekend event is open from 10am to 6pm. You can meet the vendors outside the Stonefish Grill, but the parking lot will fill up quickly. This often happens in the hour before the event kicks off.

Many visitors park at the F.I.S.H Preserve and take the complimentary shuttle down to the event. This is all provided at no cost. For anyone considering a seasonal or full-time residency, keep in mind, this event is bound to happen every year.

BASE Talks (November 14th)

If you are considering the idea of browsing available Anna Maria Island homes for sale, you will find a lot of value in BASE (Business, Arts, Science, Entertainment) Talks. This informative and community-driven event explores local engagement, educational programs, and science, in a valuable mixture of local outreach.

All ages are happily welcomed. This event is the best way to learn about the values of the community and to meet people who want to see Manatee County grow through the arts and other industries. The talk is Tuesday, November 14, 2017, and it starts at 5:30. It is $25 per person at the Manatee Performing Arts Center at 502 3rd Ave W, Bradenton, FL.

With all that’s going on, you want to be on Anna Maria Island this fall, whether you’re looking for real estate or simply looking to get away and unwind or both.

Events and activities range from family friendly outdoor adventures for everyone to romantic getaways right on the gulf, and these are just a few of the many things to do here.
