Anna Maria Island Trolley Can Take You Anywhere

The Anna Maria Island Trolley makes it easy for you and your family to get around the island on your vacation.

Every day, a free trolley runs from 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and makes 20-minute loops from Anna Maria City Pier in the north to Coquina Beach in the south.

This trolley has been a staple of the island community for years and is used by visitors and locals alike since it is free and easy to use. Sit where you’d like; there are open-air seats as well as those in the air conditioning.

Route & Main Stops

Along its loop, the trolley stops at Anna Maria City Pier, Manatee Public Beach, and Coquina Beach. The trolley waits for about three minutes for new passengers to board before heading off. There is a green sign with a trolley that indicates where stops are located, and many have covered seating for those who must wait.

Convenience

Seats are comfortable, and the A/C feels nice on blistering hot summer days. 20-minute loops ensure that you will not need to wait long to catch the trolley the next time it comes around.

Leave your car at the vacation rental

There is no need to drive through AMI. The free trolley gives you the opportunity to get out and leave your car parked at your Anna Maria Island vacation rental. This is an eco-friendly way of keeping our streets clean and safe for everyone!

History of the Trolley

The trolley is now run by MCAT. It runs solely on tips from passengers. For years, the trolley has been carrying passengers up and down the coastline of AMI. It is as much a part of the island’s history as the sites it takes people to.

Driving

Many rentals in Anna Maria Island allow you to have one or two cars parked on their property so that you can drive around. Those who choose to drive will find that most of the streets have slow speeds since there are always many bicyclists and pedestrians out and about. Driving might seem easy at first, but you might not always find available parking near your intended destination.

Riding Bikes

Rent a bike and ride it around the island. It’s a great way to get some exercise and to see AMI’s beautiful parks.

Even though a lot of Anna Maria Island rentals allow you to have at least one vehicle, many find riding bikes to be much more practical when trying to sightsee.

There are plenty of bike rental shops found all over the island. Chances are, there is one close to where you’ll be staying, making it easy to hop on a bike and go every day.
