About

Mixon Fruit Farms has been operating for 81 years and is more than just a citrus grove. It has a café with amazing breakfast and lunch menus, a huge shop where you can buy their fresh produce, grove and wildlife tours, a venue rental, and a play place that is open every day.

Whether you want some delicious Florida citrus or are craving a café mocha, you can get it at Mixon Fruit Farms.

“In” season is November through early May, but you can enjoy their products year-round.

Tours

Owners Dean and Janet Mixon don’t just love citrus – they have a passion for helping Florida’s wildlife. Part of their citrus grove is home to the Florida Wildlife Care & Education Center, which is run by Wildlife Inc. Injured animals, reptiles, and birds live here since their natural habitats have become smaller and are ultimately unsafe for them to recover in while injured. Their cages are in the grove next to orange trees, and you can get up close and visit with the animals as their caretakers guide them through treatment and rehabilitation.

You can also take daily tram tours on the Orange Blossom Express. In fact, this is how you get to the Wildlife Care & Education Center! You will get to see the Orange Grove, Garden Oasis, and Koi Pond before coming to your final stop at the Center. This tour takes about an hour and is open year-round, Monday through Saturday. Kids under 3 ride for free! The Mixon Fruit Farms tours are a wonderful way for you and your kids to learn about Florida’s natural fruit and wildlife.

Play Place

Speaking of fun for the kids, the play place is totally exciting. It costs $3 for those aged 3 to 16, but everyone else gets in free. The Amazing Play Place is a great spot for kids to get out and stretch their legs after the tour!

Kids can do everything from jump around in a ball pit to pet a live snake. There is a sandbox to play in, a huge wall of colorful tires to play on with a slide to go down, and covered seating for adults. This is where you can host a special event too.
