Liberty Day Regatta
1 PM-8:00 PM: If you have brought children with you on your Holiday, you may be looking for something fun to do with them. Look no further than the Sarasota Sailing Squadron’s Liberty Day Regatta and Family Festival. Kids and adults can enjoy a water slide, an ice cream truck, a pig roast and live music followed by firework displays all around the Sarasota Bay. Everyone is encouraged to bring their favorite summer dessert. Food wristbands are $7 a person for dinner and kids 12 and under are $5.00 each. If you choose to watch the fireworks display from Anna Maria Island, you may make it back just in time to go to the 30th Annual Sandbar Restaurant Fireworks Spectacular located on the north end of the island next to Pine Avenue. If you can get in, you can attend the VIP Party under the cool night air at the Sandbar Event Pavilion. However, if you can view these fireworks from virtually anywhere because the buildings aren’t allowed to reach over three stories on Anna Maria Island. This ensures you will have a full panoramic view of this unforgettable Island.
If you don’t make it back to the Island in time, don’t fret. You can see the fireworks from nearly anywhere because every town along the coast has their own display going on. The Fireworks Spectacular over Sarasota Bay begins at 9 PM and it a free to watch anywhere from downtown Sarasota.
