Home to the largest artists’ colony in Florida, Village of the Arts is located in downtown Bradenton and consists of 42 acres and 240 residential structures. A non-profit corporation, The Artists Guild of Manatee, Inc., was formed in 1999 and Village of the Arts was created. There are approximately 30 artist related businesses, a bookstore, restaurants, yoga studio, and wellness centers. You will also find the Manatee County Cultural Alliance, an organization that promotes art and cultural events. All of the businesses here are refurbished residential properties, which definitely adds to the charm. Artwalks are held the first weekend of every month, on Friday from 6 until 9:30 p.m. & Saturday from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Affordable fine art, jewelry, ceramics, small furniture, books, clothing, collectibles, and more are available to purchase. And be sure to grab a bite to eat at one of the eclectic restaurants!
