The summer season is in the air! The cool Gulf breeze is giving Anna Maria Islanders some nice respite from the typical Florida heat.

Anna Maria Island is thrilling and lovely all summer long. Explore our numerous Anna Maria Island waterfront rentals and find one you love above all the rest.

There are plenty of great Summer activities, but don’t miss out on some of the favorite summer events coming soon!

Sarasota Farmer’s Market

Sarasota has one of the most endearing markets anywhere. There are multiple vendors offering fresh produce next to perfumes, artwork, exotic herbal plants, fresh cheese and pastries, and much more. You can also find organic selections from Worden Farms or vegan lunches from Raw! Raw!

The event often creates a theme for the week, with special deals on items related to the theme. This could include a 60’s celebration week or a natural life week, to name a few.

While the Sarasota Farmer’s Market runs all year round, the summer is when the event really lights up. Summer visitors bring an extra spark to the community, and some local artisans bring out their best work for the three-month stretch.

The market is every Saturday for the whole summer, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. No matter what time of the year you visit, this recurring local staple is open for you.

The market is held at 1 N. Lemon Ave, Sarasota, FL.

The Privateers’ Fourth of July Parade

The Privateers’ Fourth of July Parade is a perfect complement to your Fourth of July celebrations. The event is at 10 a.m., and it typically runs the majority of the length of the island. You can see decked-out ships, coated in pirate swagger, bellow along the water. The trek usually begins at the city pier and continues down to Coquina Beach. The event is free, so find a spot by the water and hang out for the mid-morning.

Sarasota Music Festival

The Sarasota Music Festival is June 2nd to June 23rd, and is one of the biggest chamber musical gatherings in the country. Full symphonies to solo showcases, the event features upwards of 40 musicians, many internationally-renowned and respected masters. The Holley Hall hosts many of the artists, with special features for numerous rising stars and faculty artists from local schools.

Fourth of July

Fourth of July is an important and memorable holiday for all our guests. While you can’t set your own fireworks off on the beaches of Anna Maria Island, you can see an incredible show instead. The Sandbar Restaurant is one of the best places to sit and admire the fusion of color glowing into the sky.

Beach Market at Coquina Beach

The Beach Market is a unique and fascinating look at the beach culture of Anna Maria Island. The market actually sits right alongside the beach, so you can explore the vendors with your toes in the sand.

Coquina Beach is big, so expect to find facilities and things to do. Many guests spend the whole day here, opening the morning up with a stop at the market and continue their fun on the shores of this popular beach stop. The market is every Sunday into July, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
