Best Coffee Shops in Anna Maria Island

Anna Maria might be best known for its beaches, but it also happens to have some of the best coffee shops around. While booking your Anna Maria Island vacation rentals, peek at what these AMI coffee houses are brewing up.

Island Coffee Haus

Island Coffee Haus is more than just a coffee house. They have smoothies, soft drinks, juices, and even merchandise. If you’re bringing kids or grandkids along with you, they will love the selection of non-caffeinated beverages.

Of course, you might be wanting something caffeinated. If that’s the case, Island Coffee Haus has you covered. Their coffee is an amazing mix of Puerto Rican, Columbian, and Mexican beans. It’s so popular that they offer already-ground beans to take home with you. You can also bring a takeout cup for a discount on your purchase.

Enjoy tea over coffee? They have a lovely selection of herbal and black teas that come from a local company.

Ginny’s and Jane E’s Café

Ginny and Jane E’s Café is an AMI favorite. Located in historic Anna Maria, this shop echoes the area’s “Old Florida” charm. There, you will find antiques and local crafts in addition to beach supplies, baked goods, and the café. Also, if you brought your dog to an Anna Maria Island pet-friendly rental, bring your pooch here while you get coffee!

Grab a latte with your choice of dairy or soymilk, add a flavor combination (the Willy Wonka, which is mocha and caramel, comes highly recommended), and relax. You can get frappuccinos and smoothies here too, which are great for cooling down on a hot day. Smoothies can get a shot of B-12 added to them for extra nourishment.

Be sure to snag something from their bakery as well! Head baker Connie Wolgast started off here with Jane and has kept many of their traditions alive. Now, there are gluten- and dairy-free options as well as vegan choices. You can get everything from an Apricot Cream Cheese Scone to a Feta Tomato Spinach Quiche.

Back Alley Treasures

Back Alley Treasures can be found on Historic Bridge Street in AMI and is vastly popular for their selection of wine, craft beer, and – of course – coffee.  They also sell some nifty local treasures, so you can do some souvenir shopping after you enjoy your choice of beverage.

Their tea and coffee options can have skim milk or non-dairy options (soy, almond, or coconut milk) substituted for free. You can get a house blend, espresso, latte, iced latte, frappe, or iced tea – and those are just a few of the options.

If you want a smoothie, you can get one. You can also opt for frozen lemonade. Adult beverages are on tap. You can get a Boozy Smoothie or have your frozen lemonade made as hard-frozen lemonade. Oh, and your coffee? That can be spiked, too! There are also a number of wines, which can be bought by the glass or bottle.

The Donut Experiment

The Donut Experiment warrants a stop or two. Donuts and coffee are basically the perfect pairings for starting off your day. But the donuts here can be experimental. Who would think to put Sriracha on a donut? Owners Shawn and Cecilia Wampole do, and it tastes delightful. It’s all about getting your donut your way.

Naturally, you’re going to want coffee to go with your donut. You can get hot coffee, cold-brewed ice coffee, espresso, iced and hot lattes, and cappuccino. Just make your way over to Pine Avenue and give this shop a try. No matter what you get, this is one of the most creative coffee shops in Anna Maria Island.

Coffee lovers, your Anna Maria Island vacation will not be complete without trying at least one of these divine coffee shops. Take a moment out of your busy day to grab a coffee, get some donuts or other baked goods, and just relax with your choice beverage. These coffee houses will make your vacation truly enjoyable with their impressive menus of coffees and teas. Best of all, they’re a short trip from our Anna Maria Island vacation rentals!
